I stopped in a McDonalds in Alamosa for a long break and to dry out a bit.
No such thing as bad weather only bad equipment.

My rain gear held up very well. I may have looked like I was working in a meth lab but I was glad to be dry.

Day 32 - Long day with an assist
Rain, wind and desert

On the road by 6am to beat the wind

The first 50 miles was heading west and I was hoping that I would turn south before the wind picked up
Rolling along thru the reservation
No big hills - Just steep enough to make you stand and push over the hump and then get a bit of a downhill.
Crossed the continental divide 4 times during the day but barely noticed
My ride down into Milan
About 2-3 miles from the high point of the day I took a ride from this nice guy. The gods would get me when I took my time in going the last 4 mi to Grants

Day 34 - The Afternoon Wind Switch

My original plan was to get to Hidden Springs Inn near Reserve.

I had heard it was all downhill from Hidden Springs. It wasn't
Reached my hotel by early afternoon
Avoiding a soaking and had a nice meal at the Golden Girls Cafe
Rain had stopped by dinner
I went an extra 30 miles after covering 60 by 11am.
